Jurassic World - Rebirth (2025)
"Jurassic World Rebirth" (2025), directed by Gareth Edwards, is set five years after Earth's climate has become mostly inhospitable to dinosaurs, which now survive only near the equator. A covert operations expert (Scarlett Johansson) is hired by a pharma company to lead a team — including a paleontologist played by Jonathan Bailey — on a mission to a forbidden, dinosaur-infested island to extract DNA from three massive prehistoric species, since their genetic material could hold the key to a groundbreaking heart-disease drug. Along the way they cross paths with a stranded family, and the group ends up contending not just with the original dinosaurs but with genetically mutated hybrid creatures left over from earlier InGen experiments. It's framed as a mostly standalone story rather than a direct continuation of the Owen/Claire trilogy, blending survival-thriller action with the series' usual themes about the ethics of tampering with nature.
